Aldemir illustrated the classic Vidas Secas by Graciliano Ramos, using his simple and striking lines. He began in 1963 with the 9th edition and continued in other editions of the same work.
He dedicated his soul to painting the ceiling of the most famous chapel in the world.

Surprisingly, he took more than 4 years working in almost asphyxiating conditions.
Aldemir Martins illustrated lottery tickets with his picturesque drawings.
In the 1970s, he was responsible for creating the opening images of the famous TV series Gabriela, which was broadcast by Rede Globo, based on the novel Gabriela Cravo e Canela by Jorge Amado which aired in 1975.
In 1982, he was awarded the title of Doutor Honoris Causa by the Federal University of Ceará.
The MWM (Motoren-Werke Mannheim AG) published the book Aldemir Martins Line, Color, and Form and, in 1990, the Best Seller edited the volume Drawings of Rome, which brought together works carried out by the artist when he was in the Italian capital.
Thus was his trajectory: traveling around the world, participating in various national and international biennales, and always conquering many awards.
But history holds a bizarre detail:
On February 5, 2006, the artist died of a heart attack in São Paulo, at the age of 83. He left a legacy that is still revered today by both the public and art critics.

His artistic trajectory presents a dominant aesthetic, being predominantly figurative. In addition to landscapes, the series of colorful cats is the most famous, being his trademark.
The artist worked as a draftsman, engraver, ceramist, designer, and painter. He recorded the nature, flora, and fauna of the Northeast region, where he was born and started drawing as a child. He declared:
"I don't know how to do anything without drawing. My notes, messages, are always drawn. This since I was 8 years old, when I started drawing with brick and charcoal". - Aldemir Martins
