Candido Portinari is considered one of the most prestigious artists in Brazil and was the Brazilian painter who achieved the greatest international recognition.
Although he lived only 59 years, the painter produced a significant amount: over five thousand canvases, drawings, and murals.
With the same ease, he painted social themes, especially those related to rural workers, historical panels, epic scenes, washerwomen, children playing, and little lambs.
SOME OF PORTINARI'S WORKS THAT PORTRAY THE CHILDHOOD UNIVERSE
When painting this "Festa de São João", Portinari created a well-composed work with triangles in pink tones to honor Saint Peter and the square fire being set up in the style of Saint Anthony.
We have here the three popular Catholic saints being celebrated in a single work by this genius artist.
