Pablo Picasso was born in the city of Málaga, located in the Andalusia region, southern coast of Spain, on October 25, 1881.

When he began to speak, his first word was "pencil".
Picasso arrived in Paris in October 1900, with his friend Carlos Casagemas.
They lived in the famous Montmartre neighborhood.
Picasso met Fernande Olivier, a French artist and model who became his muse and lover.
The Rose Period
The Rose Period was brief, spanning from 1904 to 1906.
Picasso was already being noticed by the important art circles.
The Parisian art critics turned their attention to the 25-year-old artist whose exciting work rivaled that of Henri Matisse.
Picasso worked on a painting that would break with the artistic traditions that had dominated Western art for the past five hundred years.
