Most of his work is inspired creatively by the 1960s, a period of international explosion, witnessing the proliferation of modernist philosophies and trends.

The psychedelic art, a huge increase in consumerism, and the associated trends of marketing and advertising symbolized the era even more.

It was during his childhood that he began to develop an interest in art.

His father was a collector and a traveling salesman, so Juarez spent most of his childhood with his mother, who was an artist, and his brother.

As a result, he started drawing at a very young age and also enjoyed making clay sculptures.

In 1961, he moved to Curitiba.

He soon enrolled in the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná.

It was in this city that he held his first solo exhibition in 1964.

In 1966, he moved his residence to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where he lived for twenty years.

During this period, he worked as a cartoonist for the country's main newspapers, presenting his irreverent art with a lot of humor, projecting himself on the national and international scene.

Juarez was married to Melina Mosimann, who was a graduate in Art Education, Journalism, and Event Promotion.

For many years, she was the administrative director of the Juarez Machado Institute.

Melina passed away in 2020 due to cancer.

Juarez has three children from previous marriages to Melina.

The artist, recognized as a surrealist and for exploring his works with irreverent social criticism, gathered in the exhibition, objects, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and paintings with female figures, almost always present in his work.

He declared: "I work a lot with irony, humor is a critical form that provokes and entertains, I decided to make an exhibition to have fun."
